Mount Joy Church of God, Inc. 2017 Church Theme

It is now 2017 and the Mount Joy Church of God Family will celebrate its 10th year as a church community. This year we embrace the theme of “Keep It Alive” inspired by Colossians 2:6-7 NIV. “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”

The Apostle Paul wrote the Book of Colossians not just to address the church in Colosse, but to Believers everywhere. In it, Paul reminds us what Christ has done and what Believers should do. In this particular passage, Paul challenges us to reflect upon when our discipleship began and encourages us to do three things continuously.

First, we must dedicate our lives and submit our will to Christ. Secondly, we are to seek to learn from Christ, His life, and His teachings. Third, we must recognize the Holy Spirit’s power in us. Why are these three things important? The combination of all three safeguards and develops our relationship with Christ which reinforces our faith allowing us to be overflowing with thankfulness.

In correlation with our “Keep It Alive” theme, we hope to inspire others to do the same. We invite you to join us in celebrating our love for God and participate in the various events that we will have through the year. Each Monday we will send out the post to remind ourselves things that we want to keep alive!

We ask that you will “Like” us on Facebook, subscribe to our Youtube Channel, follow us on Twitter. Stay tune because there is always something going on at The Mount!
